Cody Ray and the New Favorites – Live@Lunch
Cody Ray Raymond is a purposeful, independent musician, a singer-songwriter, guitar player and producer. Performing not only in some of the Northwests top venues like The Crocodile in Seattle, and Jazzbones in Tacoma as well as McMenamins in Oregon- Raymond and his trio have performed all up and down the West Coast in Festivals, Fairs, and opening for nationally touring acts such as The Receiver, Yarn, and The Voice’s 2013 semi-finalist, Stephanie Anne Johnson, among other notable artists. Raymond’s roots come from early RnB, Soul-Rock, Jazz, Blues and Grunge. You’ll hear flavors of Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder to John Legend and Allen Stone in his vocals and John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains in his guitar playing. His stories will inspire you to reflect, grow, and encourage you to be in love with life and its experiences.
After serving in the Air Force for three years and experiencing tremendous tragedy, Raymond found purpose through his honest songwriting, unique and dynamic vocals, and his soulful and melodic guitar playing. After a year in a half of couch surfing, street performing and picking up solo acoustic shows where ever he could. Raymond and Jesse Turcotte (Stay Grounded, Ethan Tucker Band, Stephanie Anne Johnson), formed Cody Ray & the New favorites in May of 2014, featuring hand picked, top drummers of the Northwest.
